We are looking for Process Lead Engineer to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office. Our team within the Industrial Business specializes in taking on the most significant engineering projects in the Industrial sector, ensuring safe, reliable, low carbon nuclear power generation, and preparations for safe and efficient defueling.  We also support other parts of the AtkinsRéalis Nuclear & Power business covering the full life cycle from new build through to deconstruction.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

The Role

Working within our Industrial business sector in our office, you will be the Process Lead Engineer for Process Discipline.

You must be able to appreciate complex practical, technical and commercial issues and to work constructively with a broad range of stakeholders; leading the given Task that are either local to you or distributed across multiple sites.

The Person

  • You’ll have excellent communication, listening, stakeholder management and influencing skills. You’ll be able to manage client relationships, engage constructively with multiple stakeholders and deliver the task.
  • You’ll enjoy turning your hand to new challenges and will be keen to learn, whilst also wanting to support others within our diverse multi-disciplinary teams. You must also be able to successfully manage the commercial and quality performance and proactively deploy a range of techniques to control cost, manage risk.
  • Your experience in working collaboratively with teams spread across multiple geographical locations.
  • Direct and demonstrable experience of successfully managing one or more of the following types to agreed time, cost and quality requirements:
    • Consultancy services supplying engineering advice, or
    • Engineering design.
    • Experience of leading and directing the Team and resources. Able to motivate self and teams, deal with conflict and create a collaborative team culture to meet client requirements.
  • Willing to work flexibly with occasional out of hours work to accommodate project and client requirements.

Desirable requirement:

  • Industrial projects experience. Applications from candidates from Engineering consultancy services serving Industrial, Chemicals, Material handling industry OR related Industrial projects, Process Industry Projects or highly regulated industries would be welcomed.
  • Minimum 12 Years Experience working in Process Design Discipline in Engineering Design consultancy.
  • Workshare Project experience is preferred.

Work Assignments (Not limited to):

  • Equipment selection & sizing.
  • Process Design calculations & Process safety calculations.
  • Material balance & energy balance calculations.
  • Equipment design as per Design guideline like ASME, TEMA, API 650 etc.
  • Preparation of Equipment list, PFDs, P&IDs, Activity Charts for time cycle.
  • Perform energy balance calculations.
  • HAZOP Studies.
  • Preparation of turnaround time calculations for time cycle and capacity.
  • Knowledge of Design software’s: AutoCAD, Plant 3D, SP PID, E3D PID.
  • Participation in 3D Model reviews.
  • Inter discipline Co-ordination & Technical support/Inputs to other engineering discipline.
  • Define the control requirements / automation interfaces for Process Equipment.
  • Coordination with the Overseas offices for Process Activities and Delivery of Workshare project assignments.
  • Proper Direction to subordinates & get the work done from Team.
  • Efforts estimation for the assigned scope of work and Resource allocation/Planning as per the Task.
  • Working Sectors: Battery & EV Industry, Minerals & Mining, Utility Systems, Material handling industry & balance of Plant (Not limited to).
