We are seeking a Legal Counsel - Middle East with experience in construction and engineering services matters to responsible for AtkinsRéalis in the Middle East.

In this role you will be reporting to the Senior Director and Head of Litigation UK&E, MEA and APAC and will be responsible for:

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure that material litigation and arbitration in the region have strategy roadmaps, are appropriately resourced internally (commercial and legal), have well managed budgets and workplans to ensure greater likelihood of expected outcomes.

  • Consult on, and provide proactive advice regarding complex litigation, arbitration or regulatory matters in the Middle East and provide mitigation strategies.

  • Regular reporting and updating on status of all matters in the region.

  • Partner with and efficiently manage outside counsel and other legal service providers.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert with respect to legal matters in the Middle East.

Candidate profile:

  • Legal degree and member of a local bar association required engineering or management degree or related educational credentials an asset.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience whether inhouse or in private practice, along with other large complex construction projects experience.

  • Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under time constraints and work well independently and as a collaborative team member.

  • Demonstrated commitment to centering diversity and equity in executing key responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated success serving as a respected advisor within a fast-paced results driven organization.

  • Demonstrated success building and ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders and influence in a team setting.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve.

  • Confidence and leadership with humility.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
